What is speech and communication therapy?
Speech and communication therapy supports how your child understands language, uses words, speaks clearly and connects with others. Communication isn’t only talking. It includes gestures, signs, pictures, devices and play.
Our licensed speech-language pathologists work with your child’s strengths and interests. The goal isn’t to make your child communicate like everyone else. It’s to help them be understood and understand the people around them.
Therapy plans are individual. They are made by qualified clinicians after careful assessment.

Understandingtoday. Beingunderstoodtomorrow.
Who this helps
Speech and communication therapy can help if your child:
- Isn’t talking yet or uses only a few words
- Is hard to understand
- Has trouble following instructions or understanding what’s said
- Finds it hard to put words into sentences
- Struggles with back-and-forth conversation or play
- Stutters or has a bumpy flow of speech
- Is autistic, has ADHD or another diagnosis and needs communication support
- Has been flagged by school for language or literacy concerns
These signs don’t mean something is wrong. They mean it may be time to get a clearer picture.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need a referral?
If you have reports from a doctor or school, please bring them.
At what age should we seek help?
Any age. Support can start before your child’s first words. If you’re unsure, ask us.
My child is a “late talker”. Should we wait?
Some children catch up on their own, while others benefit from early support. An assessment can help you understand your child’s communication development and decide what to do next.
My child speaks Cebuano, Filipino and English. Can that cause a delay?
No. Learning more than one language doesn’t cause speech or language delays. We consider all the languages your child uses during assessment and therapy.
How long does an assessment take?
It depends on your child’s age and needs. We’ll let you know when you book.
What happens at the first session?
We talk with you about your concerns and spend time playing with your child to see how they communicate.
How often are therapy sessions?
Frequency depends on your child’s goals and is agreed with you in their plan.
Will using AAC stop my child from talking?
No. Research shows AAC supports speech development and does not delay it.
Can you work with my child’s school?
With your consent, we can share reports and recommendations with your child’s school.
How much does therapy cost?
Fees depend on the type of assessment and therapy. Contact us for current pricing.

You don’t have to figure out the next step alone.
